I cannot believe a man that and I have had so many amazing memories of is now gone. Last night I was shocked to hear that one of the most promising comic creators of my generation, had died.
I have no idea how it happened, all I know is that he was surrounded by his friends, family, and most importantly the love of his life and partner in crime,Kelly Dale.
For years Adam and I stayed with Jeremy and Kelly in hotel rooms, hung out with them at cons, and skyped together just for the hell of it. They were special, the first true friends we found in comics that were our age. We shared so much in common with them it was crazy - chief among them, our mutual drive to make it in this business - no matter what!
Even to this day Adam and still have the sound of Jeremy in the back of our minds pushing us to do better, giving us the critique we know we deserve. In many ways we are better artists, creators, and people for having known Jeremy - my sadness is that no one else from this point out will have that same honor and privilege.
So here's to you thejeremydale - king of kings. Master of drawing fun and fast. Owners of my respect and admiration. Your time on this earth was far too short, your accomplishments great - but not enough...not yet. There will be a hole in this industry of ours for years to come because of your absence. I will miss you, your work, and the way you would make faces at me across the way in artist alley.
Thank you for being.
And if you are so inclined dear reader, it would be much appreciated if you could help out his wife, Kelly Dale with the medical bills left behind. Go to this link and give whatever you can.
